This is a recap of Steven's journey to Central America.

THE DIVE LOG 1.  Date 24 May 2009. Dive 1.  Punta Manglar Reef, Bocas del Toro, Panama.  Time in 1100/Time out 1150.  Max depth 45 feet.  Water temp 82 degrees. Comments:  Heading 300 degrees to 45 feet.  Turned to 30 degrees and followed terrain until 500 psi. Dive 2.  Punta Manglar Reef North.  Time in 1230/Time out 1320.  Max depth 55 feet.  Water temp same.  Comments:  Continued dive from last one on a heading of 330 degrees toward posts at the end of the runway of airport (El aeropuerto Reef).  Passed directly over the sunken barge and explored the wreck.  Continued on a heading of 330 until 500 psi. Reviewed Casa Bonita---see photos at the Flickr link (click here). On to Bocas del Drago for lunch and review of ITEC facility. Boat back south and stopped at the Playa de las Estrellas. Dive 3.  Punta Manglar Reef South. Time in 1545/time out 1635.  Max depth 40 feet.  Visibility 15 meters. Heading from the "L" of 300 degrees to 40 feet.  Turn to 210 and followed the terrain at 40 feet until 1500 psi.  Ascended to 30 feet and turned north following the terrain at 30 feet.  Arrived at the starting point and continued on a short tour and returned to the boat at 500 psi. Back to cuartel (police barracks) and cleaned the equipment. More of Sonia's cookies, relaxed, and then dinner at the Pirate.  Then more of Sonia's galletas. 2.  Date 25 May 2009. Dive 4.  Grandma's Garden Jardine de la abuela). Time in 1000/Time out 1045.  Water temp 82 and vis 20 meters. Comments:  Heading 210 to 40 feet.  Left south and followed reef at 40.  At 1500 psi ascended to 30 and returned to boat. Dive 5.  Hospital Point. Time in 1145/Time out 1235.  Water temp 82 and vis 20 meters. Comments:  Out over  drop off on heading of 30 and to 40.  Turned left and followed the wall until 1500.  Returned at 30 to the boat. Super fish lunch at Cayo Carole and siesta. Dive 6.  Hospital Point. Time in 1545/Time out 1650.  Max depth 52.  Same route as dive 5.
